MSC Cruises has opened the sales for MSC Grandiosa’s inaugural voyage. The prototype of the Meraviglia Plus class is set to be christened on November 9, 2019 in the Port of Hamburg and will set sail the following day for its first cruise towards the Mediterranean Sea.
After her naming ceremony MSC Cruises‘ newest flagship will embark on her maiden voyage from Hamburg to her new home port of Genoa. From here she will offer 7-night sailings in the Mediterranean starting on November 23. Her ports of call will include six beautiful and historic destinations: Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Valletta, Barcelona and Marseille.
Guests who set sail on MSC Cruises’ newest state-of-the-art vessel can choose from a 10 or 13 night inaugural sailing, disembarking in Marseille (France) or Genoa (Italy). During her first sailing MSC Grandiosa will call in Southampton (UK), Lisbon (Portugal) and Barcelona (Spain). An overnight in each port will allow guests to fully explore each of the destinations.
MSC Grandiosa will not only become the company’s newest flagship, she will also be the biggest and richest in features yet to be built by MSC Cruises, living up to her name, which means magnificence and grandeur.
The MSC Yacht Club will continue to offer the more discerning cruise guest a luxurious stay in the ship-within-a-ship concept with key features such as the stylish Top Sail lounge, stunning One Pool Deck, private restaurant and 24-hour butler service.
The Mediterranean promenade – the heart of the ship – will be enlarged again on the MSC Grandiosa. Guests can stroll under the longest LED sky (98.5 meters) on the inner boardwalk and enjoy a new restaurant concept alongside various entertainment programs and boutiques.
Restaurant options on board include a choice of at least 12 different dining venues, ranging from specialty restaurants to the buffet and serving fresh, authentic food each and every day. A new restaurant concept will be introduced on the Promenade exclusively for MSC Aurea experience guests. Also new is the L’ Atelier Bistrot – a bar with lounge area that also offers a stage and dance floor.
The Carousel Lounge will cover 1,000 square meters over two decks and feature two new exclusive shows by Cirque du Soleil at Sea. After the show, the theater will transform into a disco.

New family activities and entertainment building on the already extensive and award-winning offering . The DOREMI Lab will offer new themes each day, while the DOREMI Studio Lounge focusses on allowing children to have fun through the magic of music. This multitude of concepts ensure that children of every age will have an unforgettable holiday at sea.
MSC Grandiosa will be the second ship to feature Zoe, the first AI-based personal voice assistant on a cruise ship. With this service, guests can access a new offering that includes tailor-made information and recommendations, answer questions and much more all in seven languages and from the comfort of their own cabin.
Additionally, MSC Grandiosa will offer a variety of entertainment options including a Broadway-style theatre, a casino, an amazing sportplex, full-sizeD bowling alley, a Sports’ Bar, F1 simulator and a virtual games arcade.
MSC Grandiosa will spend her first winter season in the western Mediterranean. On the 7-night itinerary, guests will discover picturesque harbor towns and cultural highlights such as Civitavecchia near Rome, Palermo, La Valletta in Malta, Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa.
