When Azamara Pursuit joins sister ships Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey, as the third member of the Azamara Club Cruises’ fleet of boutique cruise ships she will be almost identical to her sisters. Where Azamara Quest and Journey offer their guests a casino on deck five, Pursuit will feature a brand new lounge.
According to maritime law, cruise line are only allowed to operate the onboard casino when in international waters. As Azamara’s ships offer longer stays in port and more overnight stays than other cruise lines, and therefore spend less time in international waters, the onboard casino offers little value for the cruise line.
Consequently, and in collaboration with their new partner AFAR – a publication focused on experiential travel, Azamara Club Cruises has decided to remove the casino and introduce The Den, a new lounge that exemplifies Azamara’s steadfast commitment to Destination Immersion experiences.
The Den Powered by AFAR will inspire guests with tools to travel to all corners of the world. The lounge will be home to the shore excursions and cruise again desks, offer an AFAR Magazine Library and comfortable seating for guests to indulge in AFAR-themed drinks while enjoying live piano music.
The Den Powered by AFAR will be also be introduced onboard Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey.
