Dream Cruises, the first-ever Asian luxury cruise line, has unveiled the hull-artwork for Genting Dream, the cruise line’s first ship designed and built for the China and Asia cruise market.
Designed by Chinese pop-artist Jacky Tsai, “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream” is based on a love story between a mermaid and an astronaut set in a surreal world.
Jacky Tsai has created a giant-sized art piece on both port and starboard sides of Genting Dream measuring more than 335 metres in length.
The artist has also created an acrylic and gold leaf work on canvas, measuring 3.1 metres by 1.35 metres, which will be displayed onboard.
Genting Dream, which is currently under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, will debut from her homeport of Guangzhou (Nansha) in November this year.
Genting Dream is one of the 10 new cruise ships that are expected to make their debut this year. You can read more about those ships in our ‘New cruise chips on the horizon‘ post.
