Costa Cruises is making important changes in its organization as part of Carnival Corporation’s broader efforts to enhance operations and mobilize the global organization prior to the resumption of cruising.
Costa has used the current pause in the global cruise operations to redesign every aspect of its business, from commercial strategy to product design and organizational structure.
Michael Thamm, Group CEO, Costa Group & Carnival Asia, will add the role of President.
Neil Palomba will be taking the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Carnival Cruise Line. Palomba will continue to oversee the resumption of Costa operations in the next weeks to ensure a smooth transition while progressively taking over the new responsibilities.
Mario Zanetti has been named Chief Commercial Officer of Costa Cruises effective immediately.
In his new role Zanetti will be based in Genoa and will hold the responsibility of the overall commercial operation of the Company, reporting to CEO Michael Thamm, while keeping his role of President Costa Group Asia.
Over the last two decades, Mario has made an outstanding contribution as a Senior Executive within Costa Cruises. He has successfully held key positions with entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities. In his role of President of Costa Asia he has strengthened the leadership position of the Company in Asia through the development and execution of new business strategies as well as the renewal of the fleet.
