Costa Cruises designed their new flagship Costa Smeralda as a tribute to Italy, showcasing what makes the country so loved and appreciated around the world. That includes not only the country’s famous and iconic landmarks but also it world renowned cuisine.
A feast for the eyes and the taste buds in La Colombina Restaurant
With more than 15 restaurants and areas dedicated to food Costa Smeralda offers a truly unique gastronomic experience. There are four bistro-styled main restaurants – La Colombina (deck 5), Arlecchino and Il Meneghino Restaurant (deck 6) and Il Rugantino (deck 7) – serving regional Italian dishes and a menu created by Chef Bruno Barbieri.
A wealth of culinary options
Deck eight is the absolute must go to area for hungry cruisers as it features the La Sagra dei Sapori Buffet, the Pizzeria Pummid’Oro – offering 100% Italian pizza ($), the Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant ($), the innovative Ristorante LAB ($), the Bellavista Club Restaurant (for Costa Club Perla Diamante members) and the Panorama Elite Restaurant (exclusively for guests staying in Suites and Grand Suites). Deck eight is also home to the Il Bacaro Venetian Bar, the Spazio Bollicine and the Gelateria-Cioccolateria Amarillo.
The new Ristorante LAB features 24 cooking stations where 48 guests in total can test their cooking skills, under the guidance of Costa Chefs. In addition to learning cooking tricks and techniques, guests can test their knowledge of food sustainability issues, learn to pay attention to food quality and how to minimize waste during food preparation.

Families can dine in comfort in the Tutti a Tavola Restaurant. This is the first restaurant dedicated entirely to families with children. It is situated on deck 16, right beside the play area, and allows young and old to enjoy their favorite meals with a spectacular view of the sea.
Costa Smeralda is sailing a one-week itinerary including calls in Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia and La Spezia. During the winter of 2021/2022, Costa Smeralda will be positioned in Dubai.
