A place to sleep…
Because we boarded the ship later than we usually do the staterooms had been cleared and we were able to go and drop our hand luggage before checking out the buffet. Though the carpet in the hallway prepared us for what was to come, upon opening the door to our cabin we were surprised by the colourfulness of what was to be our home for the next eleven days.
The colours used to decorate the room are quite different from those we saw on NCL’s Getaway last year. You can see our pictures from that cruise here: A short Getaway.
The cabin itself was reasonable in size and had enough storage space for our journey. The bathroom on the other hand, though larger than some bathrooms we encountered on other ships, felt small due to the layout and the partition wall/glass sliding door between the wash basin and the toilet.
Every evening, thanks to our cabin steward, friendly animals from the towel kingdom welcomed us back to our cabin.
On our previous cruise with NCL we were able to have a look at some other staterooms. This time the concierge was kind enough to give us a tour of a Garden Villa. The amazing Villa sleeps up to eight people with three separate bedrooms, each with a king- or queen-size bed and luxury bathroom. With a living room, dining room, private garden with hot tub and a huge private terrace you have more than enough space to spread out and unwind. You also have access to the private courtyard area, butler and concierge service. Guests staying in a Garden Villa enjoy complimentary limousine service from the pier to the airport.
Welcome to the Garden Villa!
Upon opening the front door you step into a warm foyer inviting you to step forward through the hallway to the large living /dining room.
A second hallway in the foyer leads to the three bedrooms. The master bedroom is surrounded by a wall of windows providing you with a stunning view of the ocean and the private garden. The bathroom is larger than the stateroom we stayed in.
While the master bedroom doesn’t have a private balcony but direct acces to the garden, the two ‘smaller’ bedrooms have a private balcony
Looking down from the private sun deck onto the garden, complete with outdoor dining area, hot tub and steam room.

The Courtyard, exclusively reserved for residents of The Haven, is a private enclave at the top of the ship offering a quiet places to dine, drink and relax. You can take a swim in the private pool, work out in the small private fitness area and soak your tired muscles in the private hot tub.
Coming up: a place to eat…
