A place to eat…
A cruiseship is not only a place to rest your head it is also, and for some passengers even the main reason, a place to eat. Norwegian Getaway is no different than any other ship. Anyone who has ever been on a cruise knows what the first thing is you do when you get on board a ship. It is not checking out what your stateroom looks like or going to the library. It is finding out where the buffet is! The Garden Café offers a wide choice in food…
…and desserts. We did the obvious thing and walked past the healthy salads.
We were welcome on NCL Getaway!
The first evening we had diner at the Tropicana Room, one of three complimentary dining rooms aboard Norwegian Getaway. The design of the room is inspired by the glamorous Miami Beach nightlife of the 1940s and 1950s. The Tropicana Room features floor-to ceiling windows and a central stage with a dance floor. During diner a Latin jazz band plays at the front of the room.
The menu offered 8 starters to choose from. I tried the ‘Norwegian Smoked Salmon Tartare’ served with avocado, english cucumbers and a lemon mustard dressing.
There are 9 entrées and 1 daily addition on the menu. We decided to try the ‘Broiled Atlantic Salmon’ and the ‘Striploin Steak’.
There is always room for dessert!
And yes any reason, in this case celebrating our 10th cruise, is good for even more dessert. Allthough we did not finish the whole cake…
